Position:            Manager – Environmental Services
Location:            Eastern Ontario
Compensation:            $60,000 - $72,000


Candidate Requirements:

Education:      
Post Secondary Civil Engineering Education required or equivalent related experience      

Experience:
4+ years managerial experience
5+ years experience related to installation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure,
(water / wastewater distribution systems and / or treatment plants)
general knowledge of a variety of environmental engineering concepts
strong knowledge of municipal operations
exposure to union / management deliberations
knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory affairs pertaining to environmental issues      
exceptional management qualities, leadership traits
able to handle field management activities and assist field personnel
strong analytical abilities, investigation and solution provision skills
excellent verbal and written communication / presentation / people skills
     
Primary Responsibilities:

total responsibility for organization - wide environmental management
establish environmental policy guidelines and procedures
undertake engineering studies, prepare cost estimates, report to senior management
prepare operating and capital works budgets for senior management

assist in development, implementation and maintenance of engineering standards
liaise with internal departments, committees, external agencies and the public
represent the department in labour relations and union negotiations
