Details of Water Related Job Experience

ROWPU Operator & Foreman-KBR:
I started at Camp Echo/Ad Diwaniya as a ROWPU (reverse osmosis water purification unit) Operator in September of 2005 and was promoted in December of the same year to Foreman. My duties have encompassed the entire range of functions performed at the facility. Areas of responsibility have included operation & maintenance of: water wells, raw water pretreatment systems (aeration, filtration, chemical injection & quality assurance), RO systems (brackish & desalination systems) and their pretreatment & post treatment trains (multi-media filtration tanks, chemicals injection [metabisulfite, membrane anti-scalent, acid & caustic pH adjusters and chlorine]) and potable water storage and distribution systems (tanks, bladders, pumps and monitoring systems). Additionally, I have also been responsible for plumbing design and installation, inventory and training of new hires. Subsequently I was transferred to our sister facility at Al Kut/G-3 where I have been serving as lead Foreman and Acting Supervisor.

Commercial Services Manager-Schaefer Water Centers:
As the commercial services manager I was responsible for all aspects of customer service for our company. I was the primary liaison for contact with the customer base for all service related issues (scheduling, billing disputes, technical issues, vendor relations, dispute resolution, etc.). In this roll I worked with our service, repair and installation personnel, customer and vendor representatives to make sure that all are working together to take care of the customer.  The customer base for Schaefer is diverse; it includes pharmaceutical, aerosol, metal plating, foundries, machine tool, paint and other manufactures, laboratories, medical users (hemodialysis, surgical & instrumentation), municipal water systems, research facilities, universities & commercial facilities and commercial & residential drinking water customers.

Project Manager-Schaefer Water Centers:
My original position at Schaefer Water Center was as projects manager. As such, I was responsible for all aspects of medical, commercial & industrial capital projects. I assisted customers and sales staff in development of the technical specifications, lay-out drawings, system descriptions and the scope of job proposals, with special attention to defining the customers' needs and engineering system designs that best met the requirements. I coordinated with customer representatives, vendor, and internal sales & engineering staff. I priced and issued purchase orders for all capital equipment and consumables necessary for the project, set time tables for equipment deliveries and scheduled installation personnel (in-house & sub-contract). I was the primary liaison for all parties throughout the duration of projects and was responsible for all project related documentation (purchase orders, budget, timetables, system manuals, drawings & schematics, etc.). Finally, I was the author for all training and in-servicing media (manuals, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) and customer relations maintenance (training, in-service and warranty issues) through the post commissioning period. Projects that I managed included softener (demineralization), carbon (chemical removal), reverse osmosis (purification), deionization (purification), distillation (purification), chemical injection (quality control), ozone & ultraviolet systems (disinfection) and storage tank components, with completed systems ranging in size between 1LPM to over 250K LPD.
