       Professional Experience:

1. September1999 to Present: Grasilene Division, Grasim Industries Ltd., Kumarapatnam, Karnataka.

Grasilene division is a unit of Grasim Industries Ltd., under the flagship company of Aditya Birla Group. Grasilene Division is engaged in manufacturing Viscose Staple fiber (VSF) from Rayon Grade Pulp and has a capacity of 140 TPD.  This Viscose Staple Fiber is sent to 200 customers all over India. Sodium sulphate which is the by-product of the process is recovered and marketed. Carbon Disulfide and Sulphuric Acid which are required for manufacturing of VSF are captively manufactured depending on the requirements and also sold to external customers.

Major Responsibilities include:

Responsible for running the shift for Maintaining Process Conditions, trouble shooting problems, Corrective and Preventive actions for abnormal situations, co-ordinating maintenance activities with respective functions, attending the problems during the shift, monitoring chemical losses, encourage Team members for carrying out WCM activities.
MAJOR PROJECTS HANDLED:

·      Cleaning of Equalisation tank (750 M3) from external contractors once in a year
·      Cleaning of Secondary clarifier.


Suggessions Given :

1.      Net information given to reduce the algae growth in Secondary & Polishing pond by optimising the nutrients.
2.      Suggession given to provide mechanical brush at Secondary clarifier launder for cleaning algae.
3.      Modified  the distributer  by increasing the diameter to increase the Dissolved
    oxygen level at polishing level.
4.      Suggession given to reduce the cost of investment for new 16” filter water line in water treatment plant.
5.      Lime tank slurry level measurement system made simple.

      INTEREST AND ACTIVITIES:

PROJECT WORK AT P.G LEVEL:
 " Synthesis of some Schiff's bases and investigation of their anthelminthic activity on earthworms”. It can be used as a drug against helminthic infections caused by parasitic worms.
