Now Flocdoc, the rest of us had refrained from giving that answer. And you didn't give the year, so no credit.
To the original poster, I've seen that picture sometime in the last six months, but the devil if I can remember where. I thought it had something to do with mining, but don't quote me on that.

Hi
is it next to a quarry ? It may be a screening plant of some kind for grading sands and gravel. The unit on the right looks to have some sort of rotary screen at the top.
Alternatively.....Geothermal energy ?
Just a guess
