This Corporate Scientist / Engineer for Ecolab- Ecovation Water, Waste and Energy Management will be a lead technical researcher who will initiate and manage multiple complex research projects in the areas of industrial water and wastewater treatment.  This technical expert in biological wastewater treatment systems will take the lead in developing new Research and Development capabilities and technical platforms to continue the growth of this newly acquired technology.  

Having a broad understanding of how anaerobic treatment systems can be integrated with other technologies, this leader will provide solutions that meet customer effluent quality requirements, generate renewable energy, minimize solid waste disposal costs and allow water reuse.  These solutions will provide customers with operational savings while helping them achieve their sustainability objectives.   Key initiatives and projects performed under the direction of the Corporate Scientist will be incorporated into the business plans of one or more than one business unit resulting in significant business growth and profitability.  These innovative technical solutions will require patent strategies for protecting the resulting intellectual property.

The successful candidates will be recognized as a technical expert and change agent and should expect to develop future technology platforms and take on broader roles within the Ecolab-Ecovation Team.

Main Responsibilities:  

• Initiate and manage multiple complex research projects in the areas of industrial water and wastewater treatment
  
  
  Integrate anaerobic treatment systems with other technologies to provide solutions that meet customer effluent quality requirements, generate renewable energy and minimize solid waste disposal costs
  
  
  Provide technical leadership in the area of biological wastewater treatment systems
  
  
  Integrate key water and energy initiatives into the multiple business plans
  
  Develop solutions with technical differentiation and create patent strategies for protecting the resulting intellectual property

Basic Qualifications:  

• Masters degree in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering
  
  
  10+ years of directly related R&D experience

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD degree in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering
