BOD analysis
Nov 12th, 2011, 2:06pm

Hi,

for my first question on this forum here I go:
I did some BOD analysis of the inlet and outlet on the outlet analysis I got a strangely high value of 270 mg/l looking for day by day values I got 30 on the 2nd day and 200 on the 3rd day. For the other days I got normal increases of values. Does anyone know how could that happen??
Thanks

Inlet and outlet of what?  A treatment plant (what kind)?  A lab study?  What is the water source?

Sorry,
itßs a sample from the outlet of a treatment plant for landfill leachate. I get regular analysis on the inlet, the water that comes from the landfill and that strange behaviour for the analysis of the outlet water.

I am not a landfill person, but I would not think a 270 to 400 BOD change on the inlet to big that odd. Is leachate suppose to be consistent?   What has the BOD been since then.

The BOD is always around 270, and it did jump again o one analysis both inlet and outlet and gave me an out of the range value, the range was 0 - 400
