Dear Vijaya,

this is a research topic I guess. Pyridine will be adsorbed to the carbon, however, there may be also a reduction of the compound.
I found the following related to this.

http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/login.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5162952&url=http%3A%2F%2Fieeexplore.ieee.org%2Fxpls%2Fabs_all.jsp%3Farnumber%3D5162952

If you do research on this, please keep us informed by posting.

Kind regards
T. Sobisch

look at the paper, you will see that they used zero valent iron.

You should look for further papers on this, e.g. searching for "pyridine reduction" zero valent iron.

Kind regards

Dear Vijaya,

excuse me I was wrong. However, the first reference given to this seems to be related:
Influence Factors of Nitrogenous Heterocyclic Compound-Pyridine ...
ieeexplore.ieee.org › ... › Conferences › Bioinformatics and Biomedical
by C Jing - 2009 - Related articles
14 Jul 2009 – The results indicate that pyridine was removed through three steps. ... of coking wastewater by coagulation and zero-valent iron processes.

Kind regards

I know that there were developed special activated carbons with zero valent iron at the UFZ in Germany, however, I have no idea about this process, maybe trade secret?
