I had was wondering if someone could give me any ideas on what keep the Blood thinner on Slaughter House waste.  The Blood is thickening and causing the field lines to stop up.  Any enzymes available for this type of WasteWater? Thanks for any suggestions..

Aspirin and Plavix do my blood thinning (that's a joke, son). However, aluminum salts or maybe low pH may be the source of your problem. I wish that I had better ideas.

Hi Organic Farmer,
Normally blood from a slaughter hall is collected as a separate fraction, and is not discharged to the wastewater system.

Blood has a very high BOD & COD and can seriously overload a treatment plant.

It may also have a value if collected separately.

Put in a small DAF plant for some coarse / roughing treatment before discharge, this could lessen your discharge costs to the sewerage undertaker / wastewater plant assuming that you pay by both strength and volume.
