Efffect of ORP to Copper Absorbance
May 08th, 2012, 4:08am

I working on water treatment plant processing waste water from PCB production. Our treatment process aims to remove Copper concentration to less than 1 ppm using precipitation reaction followed by metal chelate tower. Our treatment process s not so stable that we encounter low copper absorbance in the chelate tower. With regards to this problem, I want to know the effect of ORP (OXidation Reduction Potential) to copper absorbance of the metal chelate tower. Is there any relationship between copper absorbance and ORP value of the treated water?

If I am understanding you properly, if the ORP is low enough to reduce the Cu to the cuprous state, it will have much less affinity for numerous adsorbents.
