You really can't that I'm aware of. The best way to judge the organic loading rate is running the OUR test and seeing how fast the oxygen is being depleted.

I have to agree with Sludgefather for practicality. However, you could determine the mass of sludge on a few carriers and calculate the results for the total volume of carriers in the aeration basin. Then, divide that value by the daily mass of sludge discharged to the final clarifier for a reasonable approximation of the SRT.

I have my doubts that the effort to obtain this information is worth the time and expense.

Is there a reason that you feel the need to define the SRT in a bio-film system?
It is not an appropriate control parameter for this type of process.

Thanks all!
I'm designing a MBBR system, and I want to check some parameters.
I just design it base on available Loading rate so It seems so simple for a project.
