hi Smiley
i need some information about flame photometery.
I know all about its principle but i do not know about advantages and disadvantages that makes an instrument better one!!! Undecided
and another thing!
what are the differences between multi channel and single channel flame photometer? which one is better?

i used the flame photometer for K, Na and Li analysis many many years ago. what i can remember is though it is a quick method, it measures ionic content linearly over a narrow concentration range so dilutions have to be prepared. It also prone to interferences from other ionic species in the water. Interference during Ca measurement was so bad we had to use the EDTA titration method.
