Inclined Plate Clarifier

Dear All,

Need info on Inclined Plate Clarifier usage.
I found that this unit process normally used for after chemical flocculation and coagulation process. Is it suitable to use this unit for Extended aeration System to replace conventional sedimentation tank?
If it can be used for the purpose, is there any additional specification to be considered? MLSS concentration, retention time.

Hi Nizam, I guess there would be blockage problems if you use inclined plate clarifier for extended aeration. The inclined palte / tube settler will have to handle the MLSS of say 3000 mg/l.

If you use it after chemical coagulation, only the incomeing TSS+ chemicals to be handled. Hence the TSS load is less
