bredon;

Forgive me as I am not trying to insult you but rather to make sure I understand you.

You pose a question about leak detection & then post that there are several companies with leak detection equipment following various gov't policies for leak detection.

Are you trying to determine which policy is best followed & what equipment provides for this or are you confirming that these exist?

One of the best techniques that we created is using the simple and quick "Bucket Test." Here's a link to our video showing the instructions. I hope this helps!

Leak detection is critical, water that is lost due to undetected/repaired leaks is water that is wasted as well as energy & $$$$!

There are several good products to allow for leak detection such as pressure loggers (PL200-G/H) to determine if proper pressure is present.

Flow meters can also assist in determining a possible leak.

There are various "sounders" that listen for leaks in your pipes.  It really depends on how you want to approach the issue.
