Evaporation of RO Reject using mist based systems
Aug 14th, 2012, 4:11am

Hi,

I am looking at evaporating my RO Reject, whose volume goes upto 270 m3/day (thats about a 0.07 MGD). I cannot use MEE based solutions because of the OPEX involved. I'm looking at using Mist Based Systems for enhancing the rate of evaporation in open ponds. Does anyone have any experience in this field? I'd love to know the evaporation efficiency attained through such systems, especially when my water temperature is at ambient temperature (30 C).

I would suggest that you set up a pilot-sized test at your location, and measure how much evaporation you could achieve.  You also need to consider what will happen during the monsoon season.
