Perhaps it would help responders if you provided the composition of the paint and other details. Some components of paints may be biologically toxic. I assume that the overspray is captured in a waterwash paint booth or may be the rinses from an electrophoretic paint system. Most paint recovery systems employ chemicals to coagulate and flocculate the sludge. More information is necessary.

Hi,

My personal experience Waste water from paint industry is highly toxic to the Microbes of waste water (Activated sludge process)
I have experienced this earlier; the waste water (washings) from a painting workshop was diverted to the sewer network due to lack of proper knowledge, resulting in complete wash out of microbes form the ASP.

would rather not expect any positive effect in this respect.
Do you expect any mechanism which might have this effect?

Kind regards

A lot of paint constituents are inert, some are toxic and some are degradable. It really depends on the type of paint. It's almost always best to segregate the wastestream.

Hello and good day,

I would suggest primarily a DAF to remove the suspended solids and latex's among other contaminants. As others have said, paint is not exactly water treatment friendly due to its toxic nature.

Determine soluble BOD/COD post separation and treatment as necessary.

Separation of waste stream --> DAF -->
