Description:  During this lecture, Bill Kurz of Sly, Inc. continues the dust collection lecture series with a focus on dust collector construction and components. Following Bill's first lecture where he provided an overview of the general approach for dust collection system design.

In this lecture Bill explains the theory of particulate collection. He then provides a review of different types of fabric filter dust collectors with a focus on pulse-jet cleaning technology, which is widely recognized as the industry standard for many industrial applications.

Additionally, industry terminology for the components of the baghouse are introduced, as are common accessories used to discharge collected dust from the baghouses for reuse or disposal.

Information from this session can effectively help an engineer, formulator or plant operator with the dust collection fundamentals required to troubleshoot difficulties or selection of equipment in dust collection applications.
