Plant/Process Description:
Treats approx. 500 usgd of meat rendering wastewater.
Primary Treatment: Coarse screen -> Fine (rotary) screen -> Dissolved Air Flotation (with DAF float further processed in tricanter centrifuges to separate & recover the solids and FOG fractions).
The clarified effluent is then treated by conventional Activated Sludge Treatment and the treated effluent is sent to a storage lagoon. Off site discharge is only allowed between Nov. - March.
Water from the lagoon is pumped into a tertiary treatment prior to discharge to further reduce CBOD5, TSS and nutrients).
Also operate and RO system for water reuse and TDS reduction.
