Plant/Process Description:
Advance Agro treats Waste water using complete mixed activated sludge process (biological treatment), the process is compatible with Scandinavian standards in the different stages of treatment:

Preliminary water treatment:

All wastewater flows through thru an automatic step screen to separate larger material such as pieces of woods and garbage. Secondly, the screened water flows to a clarifier and then to mixing pond in order to adjust pH to be fit for bacteria. The temperature is adjusted before entering the biological treatment by cooling towers and Nutrients are added such as Urea and Phosphate for the bacteria.

Activated sludge system:

The water from the pre-treatment is delivered to air accumulation pond (16,000 m3) with underwater air-transfer machines (aerators 12m deep) to increase oxygen amount sutable for the consistent growth of bacteria to the level that can digest contaminated substances in water until all degradable organic matter in the wastewater is consumed. Then, the processed water overflows to a sedimentation tank (clarifier) to separate biomass from the water and produce clean water which has BOD and COD levels compatible with the standards regulated by the Department of Industrial Works in Thailand.

The Advance Agro facilities where constructed in steps during 1996 - 1998 and consists of 2 water treatment plants with a capacity of 40,000 m3/d each (totally 80,000 m3/d = 14,676 USG/minute) and 3 identical effluent treatment plants with a capacity of 24,000 m3/d each (totally 70,000 m3/d = 12,841 USG/minute).

These facilites service a pulp and paper mill complex as well as an Industrial Park with 30+ factories as well as a number of housing estates. The emmision standards are as strict in Thailand as anywhere else in the world and are followed strictly by our operations using European technology.

Treated water is reused without harming the environment:

All water after treatment meeting with the standard will not be delivered to the public reservoirs, but Advance Agro brings the treated water to its pond in order to be used for plantation (Pulp & Paper mill raw material) watering around the factory. The plantation area is about 8,000 rai with mini-sprinkler fixed to 12 mm-centered watering which gives optimal growth rate of the planted trees.

Moreover, Advance Agro uses this treated water to supply water to our yard in the factory and we have a project to offer this water for all factories in the 304 industrial zone nearby to decrease the usage of tap water which is expensive.
