Sanitary Water Treatment Plant at Jubail
Industrial City of Saudi Arabia, built by EBARA
INFILCO Co.Ltd. is classified as an activated
sludge conventional mode treatment plant with
complete mix and utilizes mechanical
aeration.
This is a large scale wastewater treatment plant
belonging to Marafiq (Power and Water Utility
Co).This treatment plant has an installed
capacity of 72,000 m3/day. The solids handling
system consists of dissolved air floatation
thickening of secondary sludge with anaerobic
digesters of primary and secondary sludge
followed by filter belt press dewatering.
Advanced Treatment Stage incorporating chemical
treatment and recarbonation removes TSS and
phosphorous by chemical precipitation. The final
effluent after filtration and gas chlorination
confirms to Class A reclaimed water standards
and is used for irrigation and as make up water
for cooling in industries.
A central odor control system scrubs gases from
inlet works, primary sludge thickeners and
sludge disposal building.
Advanced SAP PM module is used in aiding the
smooth operations and maintenance of the
plant.
