Build, design and operate: 100%
Raw Water Intake & Pumping through a Rough bar
screen Mild steel galvanized construction with
12MM spacings c/w hand rake and inlet air life
pump. A 500-micron rotating drum screen c/w gear-
drive motor, spray bar washing system and
overflow channel and debris chute. Duty standby
vertical multistage centrifugal pumps, suction &
delivery gate valves with swing check valves,
pressure indicators and level control
protection.
Prefiltration using a GRP bodied multimedia
filter with raw water quality monitoring using
Continuous on-line pH and turbidity monitoring
and recording.
System flow and Control measurement using in
line magnetic flow meter complete with the
downstream flow control butterfly valve,
measurement and totalisation of all
flows.
Ozone generation and air preparation using a low
frequency, Corona discharge type water-cooled
ozone generator complete with motive water
pumps, non return and isolation valves, pressure
indicator and gas injector. In line mixer, off
gas thermal scrubber and cooling water supply.
Screw type air compressor sets in acoustic
enclosed with galvanized air receiver vessel,
complete with all necessary pipework valves and
instrumentation including ORP and pH
meter.
Stainless steel ozone reactor vessel with
channel ozone leak gas detector and alarm
system.
Treated water and filtrate monitoring and
recording with flow, pH and turbidity.
Filter washing with backwash connection to
rising main complete with the necessary pipe
work, valves and fittings. Air scour blowers
acoustic enclosures, pressure relief valve’s non-
return check and isolation valves, fittings and
pressure indicators.
Electrical control equipment located on the
inside a form 4 mild steel logstrup control
panel.
Automatic power factor correction equipment such
as the MCB’s starter, overloads and relays to
control electric motors, hours run meters, fault
and run lamps, hand off auto snap switches and
duty selector switches and mounted in the door
face. S.C.A.D.A. (SYSTEM CONTROL AND DATA
ACQUISITION) Complete system to allow for
monitoring and control of the treatment works at
remote location. System supplied with touch
sensitive screen PC for interfacing with the
system and modem links to allow communication
with the system and PLC. Allowance is also made
for access to the system from clients offices.
Advanced pc operating systems Windows NT or
2000PE. SCADA software National Instruments
Lookout.
Supplementary disinfections using FE Biochlor on
site electrolytic hypochlorite generation and
dosing systems. Comprising of salt saturator,
water softener, electrolyser, make-up tank and a
product storage tank, Duty and standby metering
pumps with residual feedback controller as well
as residual analysers, one entering the
reservoir and the second exiting the
reservoir.
Reservoir link comprising of a 4 Channel radio
to communicate with the plant to monitoring the
treated water outflow to supply, chlorine
residual value and reservoir level. All data
transmitted by the radio will be logged by the
SCADA system and used for control purpose where
required. Reservoir level is used to stop and
start the treatment plant.
