Victory Waste Water Treatment Plant, Iraq - USACE
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is constructing a $2.9 million waste water treatment plant at Victory Base Complex in Baghdad, base population 45,000. It has an impact off post by employing local workers, and when complete in late 2008, it will also send two million gallons of clean water each day into local canals where farmers and others can make use of it. Kevin Casey reports. Web site: http://www.usace.army.mil/

MICROCAT Products for FOG and Odor Control
MICROCAT products are formulated to eliminate the problem associated with fats, oil and grease (FOG) accumulations in drains, grease traps/interceptors and lift stations. MICROCAT products accelerate the biodegradation of FOG under aerobic to anoxic conditions. The microbes complete the conversion of organic materials to carbon dioxide and water, eliminating the FOG that can cause blockages and odor problems. Application of MICROCAT products in the collection system will reduce organic load on the downstream treatment plant. These products also contain microbes that oxidize hydrogen sulfide (and other reduced sulfur compounds) even at low dissolved oxygen concentrations. Web: http://www.bioscienceinc.com/
