The factory-applied silica glass coating on Aquastore tanks forms a hard, inert barrier for both the interior and exterior of surfaces of the tank. It protects the steel panel against weather and corrosion. The Aquastore tank’s proprietary Edgecoating process produces a barrier coating on the edges, so that the entire steel panel is encapsulated in a glass shell. http://www.aquastore.com/Aquastore

Siemens Water Technology water recycling is a two-step process that uses advanced technologies to turn wastewater into clean water. First, a technology called membrane filtration filters harmful solids and bacteria from wastewater through thousands of straw-like micro-porous filters. Then, the clean water passes through an even finer membrane filter. The result, water that is purified above drinking water standards. http://www.siemens.com/

Wastewater arriving at the plant via the northern interceptor, 27 metres deep, and the southeastern interceptor, 43 metres deep, is raised to ground level at the pumping station. The latter, with its 17 pumps whose power ranges from 2,800 to 5,150 horsepower, is considered one of the most important in use anywhere in the world. Rock was dug to a depth of 55 metres to install this pumping station which is 68.5 metres in diameter and the equivalent of 15 storeys in height.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant in Saskatoon was built in 1971. Since that time, the Plant has had numerous improvements and expansions to meet new environmental laws and serve the growing population of Saskatoon. The new Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process further reduces the levels of phosphorus, nitrogen, and dissolved organic matter in the effluent discharge to the river. With the BNR process, the addition of chemicals for secondary treatment is no longer necessary. Saskatoon was one of the first cities in Canada to use this process. This section model of the K-S Nara Paddle Dryer/Cooler, with a clear end and no cover, demonstrates the excellent mixing action of the dual intermeshing agitators producing high heat transfer rates and uniform heating and cooling. The bed level is reduced for visibility. Operation with a full bed level (paddles covered) fully utilizes the available heat transfer area. In a continuous procss the feed is metered into the inlet end of the trough and displaces product toward the discharge end. Product is discharge over a weir that is used to maintain bed level. http://www.komline.com/
