The Mid-Halton Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Canada currently has a capacity of 50,000 m3/d and provides treatment through inlet screening, grit removal, primary settling, chemical addition for phosphorus removal, secondary biological treatment in a conventional activated sludge process, and disinfection. Treated effluent from the Mid Halton STP is combined with treated effluent from the Oakville South West STP, and discharged through a common diffused outfall approximately one kilometre from the shoreline of Lake Ontario. http://www.halton.ca/
