Sludge Treatment - Montreal Wastewater Treatment Plant
Sludge deposited at the bottom of the clarifiers is pushed by scraping bridges towards hoppers. At present, this sludge with an average concentration in solids of 3% is pumped from these hoppers towards five homogenization tanks or four storage tanks. After conditioning with cationic polymer, the raw sludge is dewatered by ten filter presses and five rotary presses which produce cakes with a solids concentration of more than 30%.
