New 1000 GPM Process Air Strippers Introduced

ANN ARBOR, MI -- QED Environmental Systems today announced the release of new, larger models of their EZ-Tray air strippers for VOC removal. The flow rate capability of the company's air stripper lineup now increases fourfold, from a maximum 250 gallons per minute (GPM) to 1,000 GPM.

The easier maintenance and smaller footprint of QED's sliding tray air strippers have recently led to their becoming the preferred choice for major remediation and process stream projects in the U.S. and abroad. These low- profile, easy-to-maintain air strippers feature patented, front-access trays that slide out easily for cleaning and inspection, greatly reducing O&M costs. Models are available in a variety of corrosion- and solvent-resistant materials.

The company's existing air stripper line has primarily been employed to remove volatile organic contaminants (VOCs) from groundwater at remediation sites and landfills.

According to QED vice president David Fischer, the new models are more suited for larger, process-type projects involving multiple treatment stages. "These new air strippers can be an effective component of large-scale water or wastewater processes in manufacturing, refining, chemical processing and other industries," said Fischer. "They can act as a pre- treatment stage for other process elements, such as large aerobic biotreatment units, removing VOCs at much lower airflow rates to reduce the costs of off- gas treatment."

About the company

QED has been a leading manufacturer of environmental monitoring and remediation equipment since 1982. The company's product offerings include treatment equipment; air-powered environmental pumps for groundwater remediation, groundwater sampling, landfill leachate & methane condensate pumping; and wireless remote data collection systems.
