Coeur d’Alene, ID -- Blue Water Technologies, Inc. will unveil an exciting product at WEFTEC in San Diego this fall. The Salsnes Filter, new to the U.S., is a primary wastewater treatment technology manufactured in Norway. The Filter is a continuous primary fine screening system which offers an alternative to primary clarifiers and removes over 30% BOD and 40 - 70% TSS.
The filter system has a very small footprint, allowing for easy installation and operation. In addition, the filter solves a critical problem in today’s wastewater industry: increasing capacity. The capital and operational costs of the filter are exceptionally attractive in comparison to other alternatives for increasing a treatment plant’s capacity.

The Salsnes line of filters provides superior separation at the start of the plant. The filter design originated as a result of a goal to find dependable and cost efficient technologies that fulfilled the rigorous European Union criteria for primary treatment. The requirements included at least 20% removal of organic matter and 50% removal of suspended solids. The Salsnes Filter was the only system to accomplish this feat.
Blue Water Technologies, Inc. was recently selected by the Norwegian company to be the exclusive distributor of their Salsnes Filter in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Blue Water is currently rolling out four pilot units to the U.S. market.
