TOKYO, Japan -- Kurita Water Industries announces the establishment of a new China-based subsidiary, Kurita Water Industries (Suzhou) Ltd. The company will provide a manufacturing base for Kurita Water’s water treatment facilities in China. It will enable Kurita Water to provide the Chinese market with high-quality water treatment solutions quickly and cost effectively.
Kurita Water Industries, one of Japan’s leading water treatment companies, has been active in China for almost ten years. In May 1995, "Kurita Water Industries (Dalian)" was established for manufacturing and selling water treatment chemicals. In December 2001, "Kuritec Co., Ltd (Shanghai)" was established for selling and maintaining water processing equipment.
The strengths of these two companies will be synergized in Kurita Water Industries (Suzhou), which will provide customers with complete water treatment solutions. In addition to manufacturing Kurita Water’s innovative water treatment facilities domestically, the new company will provide services including installation of water treatment facilities, provision of water treatment chemicals and maintenance. Kurita Water Industries (Suzhou) Ltd. will provide customers with management expertise, acquired through more than 50 years of experience in the industry.
Kurita Water differentiates itself from its competitors by offering complete water treatment solutions. Using the most innovate technology, Kurita has secured the trust of its customers by providing competitively priced, effective water treatment solutions. China’s needs for clean water throughout the country are immense and Kurita is committed to partnering with its Chinese colleagues to be part of the solution. Kurita’s investment to secure a leading share of the market at this stage is 50 billion yen.
With this new company, Kurita Water is meeting goals set out in PA-5, Powerful Advance 2005, Kurita’s Mid-term Management Plan. It is one of the steps Kurita Water is taking to expand its business domain in both Japan and overseas. In the future, Kurita expects this move to result in a reduction in costs for Japanese customers, through the importation of processing facilities manufactured by Kurita Water Industries (Suzhou) Ltd. to Japan.
Kurita Water Industries will continue to pursue business developments in overseas markets, with a particular focus on Asian markets, including China, where continued growth is expected.
