DENVER, CO –– Water industry leaders will explore new technologies, security issues and other pressing matters related to water distribution and treatment plant operations at AWWA’s DSS Conference & Exposition Sept. 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Ill.

The conference brings together operators, field personnel, engineers, managers and others involved in ensuring a safe and adequate supply of drinking water. Topics include pending regulations, security and emergency responses, water quality, distribution system operation and maintenance, and automatic meter reading, SCADA, and metering.

DSS also provides hands-on interaction with the newest products and services at the DSS Exposition. Manufacturer and service provider representatives will be present to demonstrate product applications, explain services provided, and discuss the latest advances in the field.

Other opportunities for attendees include:

-Ability to earn Contact Hours for most sessions to help meet certification requirements.
-Ability for Illinois Operators to earn Illinois Operator Renewal Training Credits for all sessions.
-In-depth workshops on topics such as operating and maintaining fire hydrants, optimizing in-line valves, water main rehabilitation, and filter evaluation procedures for granular media.
-Networking opportunities with other water professionals.

Operators can take advantage of Operator Day, a great new opportunity for certified operators to attend DSS on Tuesday, September 28, and participate in all sessions and explore the DSS Exposition.

For more information on the conference and registration, visit http://www.awwa.org/conferences/dss or call toll-free 1-800-926-7337.
