Broomfield, CO -- MWH Soft, Inc., a leading global provider of water resources applications software, today announced that the Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA) has selected MWH Soft H2OMAP software to continue development of and meet the demanding schedule for its full-scale water distribution system GIS and hydraulic model. The decision underscores MWH Soft’s market-leading momentum in advanced geospatial infrastructure modeling solutions in North America.
The MVWA provides water to more than 125,000 people (42,000 customer accounts) in the Central New York state area. With a service area covering approximately 150 square miles, the Authority maintains around 700 miles of pipe, 24 storage tanks, 3 reservoirs, and 22 pumping stations. H2OMAP will replace the Authority’s existing modeling system, providing it with a comprehensive GIS-based solution for modeling and managing its drinking water infrastructure.
Unlike competing products, the innovative new network modeling technology of the H2OMAP software suite addresses every facet of utility infrastructure management and protection - delivering the highest rate of return in the industry. Drawing on the most advanced numerical computation and object-component geospatial technologies, it effortlessly reads GIS datasets; corrects network topology problems and data flaws; extracts pertinent modeling information; and automatically constructs, skeletonizes, loads, calibrates and generates credible network models with astounding speed.
The suite also allows users to share mission-critical GIS and modeling information in real-time over the Internet and corporate intranets. Once models have been established, users can easily run and simulate various conditions, pinpoint system deficiencies, and determine the most cost-effective improvements to achieve optimum performance and regulatory compliance.
In their request for proposals (RFP) from professional consultants with demonstrated experience in enterprise GIS development and hydraulic modeling, the MVWA specified the use of MWH Soft H2OMAP software as a requirement. The proposal evaluation criteria also considered the consultant’s, and all sub-consultants’, experience with MWH Soft software.
The Authority’s adoption of the MWH Soft geospatial solution reflects the experience of customers worldwide who are finding MWH Soft technology to be the ultimate solution for comprehensive enterprise GIS- and Internet-based infrastructure modeling and management systems.
“Many water and wastewater utilities and engineering consulting firms have experienced the pain of an unsuccessful, costly and lengthy GIS-based modeling software implementation process with competing software,” said J. Erick Heath, P.E., Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at MWH Soft. “These debacles have been instrumental in their decisions to switch to MWH Soft, and we’re seeing a groundswell of RFPs specifying the use of our products to ensure successful projects and maximize savings. Our proven state-of-the-art technology allows users to get up to speed right away, be effective across the enterprise, and achieve high quality results in record time - providing a competitive advantage that can’t be beat. We’re pleased that our superior technology has given us the opportunity to work with an industry leader like MVWA - and a new showcase for the unmatched capabilities of our advanced, higher value, customer-centric solutions.”
Recent utility RFPs requesting the use of MWH Soft products include the City of Fort Collins, CO; City of Henderson, NV; Inland Empire Utilities Agency, CA; City of Milwaukee, WI; Montgomery County, OH; City of Ontario, CA; City of Spokane, WA; Stafford County Utilities Department, VA; City of Tallahassee, FL; and Victor Valley Water District, CA.
“Speed, ease of use, reliability, flexibility, value, and power are the words that best describe our geospatial modeling solutions,” said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft. “The fact that progressive utilities like MVWA choose MWH Soft as their solution partner once again demonstrates the superiority of our products. We’re very proud to know that our software applications are in place at many of the world’s best-run utility companies of every size, helping them meet their corporate and strategic goals and achieve world-class performance at breakthrough cost savings.”
