HEMET, CA -- McCrometer’s V-Cone differential pressure flow meter has been chosen by Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) for installation at their Menifee Desalination plant.
EMWD needed a dependable, accurate flow meter to replace an outdated system that calculated total production by a numerical manipulation of flow stream metering data collected by various on site meters. The V-Cone, offering outstanding performance with an accuracy of up to ±0.5%, was the chosen flow meter for installation at the plant to reliably measure total volume of treated water transferred to the EMWD potable system. In addition, due to the configurations of the desalter piping and the limited options for installation, the flow meter needed to offer further solutions for EMWD. Ideal for retrofitting into existing piping layout and limited space applications along with its minimal straight pipe requirements, the V-Cone proved to be the meter of choice.
“After careful review of different flow meter options and the specific needs of the Menifee Desalter plant, the V-Cone provided multiple benefits,” said Director of Water Operations Khos Ghaderi of EMWD. “With the V-Cone’s ability to perform with no moving parts, its installation flexibility and compatibility with SCADA, we contracted with McCrometer and confidently moved forward with installation.”
The patented V-Cone flow meter provides a state-of-the-art, differential pressure flow technology that offers outstanding performance with an accuracy of up to ±0.5%, ±0.1% repeatability, and flow range of 10:1 or greater. Other features include low to no maintenance requirements and high-pressure, temperature and corrosion resistant capabilities. The V-Cone can be sized for line diameters of .5 inch to over 120 inches.
