Wallingford, UK -- The latest release of Wallingford Software’s InfoNet, version 2.5, now manages asset data for water distribution networks to the same level of detail as for collection systems. By integrating InfoNet with the entire range of different systems already in use in engineering departments (GIS, databases, CMMS, field data systems, SCADA, modeling software or other corporate applications) users can make sense of the entirety of network data and achieve a clear single picture of their network infrastructure.

InfoNet is purpose-designed for the store, integration, validation and analysis of network data to provide accurate information and reports, both up-to-date and historical, on hydraulic network infrastructure and performance, presented in easy-to-use formats.

In addition to its extension to include water distribution assets, the new release of InfoNet, also extends the software’s functionality in terms of its power and usability. Taking a few highlights of the extensive new developments:

· A new feature, the Export Data Center, gives the same range and flexibility of output file types that the existing Import Data Center provides for imported files, including Mapinfo, GeoDatabase, and .ArcView shape files

· Elevations of nodes can be inferred from using Ground Models – just one of many ways that missing data can be inferred from user-defined rules

· Laterals, the connections from street pipes to individual properties, are now included in the asset information. The inclusion of laterals, supports links to customer databases of spatial and asset information.

· GPS Survey data can be stored to help the user to identify and locate assets.

· New linking within the data sets enables the user to click through from network diagrams to see underlying data, including for example CCTV survey data on the specific location.

Paul Banfield, Sales Director of Wallingford Software, sees the inclusion of specific function for water distribution networks as a major benefit for many users: “This release moves InfoNet through to its second generation. The new functionality comes within the same software license at no extra cost to the user. Most of our customers operate both types of networks, and will appreciate having one software suite to cover them, with a single database, a single user interface, and a single logical approach.”

Paul Banfield continues: “InfoNet is seen as invaluable by its users, with very large data sets up to 800,000 nodes already in use. All the features of InfoNet that have proved so valuable for collection systems networks – the range of asset information covered, the custom reporting templates, the data validation, the ability to overlay guest databases – are now available for water distribution systems. The new release is a big step forward for the product and our customers.”

InfoNet is particularly suitable for survey management, capital investment planning, operational reporting, network data configuration for capacity and flow analysis, and rehabilitation planning. Part report generator, part network data management tool, InfoNet is the only solution capable of unlocking the combined value of all the data that a water company holds about its networks.
