YELLOW SPRINGS, OH -- YSI Environmental introduces its line of Vertical Profiling Systems for automated profiling of water columns. These systems are fully compatible with YSI sondes, enabling accurate water quality data collection.
Several deployment options are available:
· Fixed Profiling System, ideal for mounting on piers, dams, and bridges;
· Buoy Based Profiling System for deployment in lakes, reservoirs, and coastal environments;
· Pontoon Mounted Profiling System with optional meteorological package.
Applications include surface water, drinking water reservoirs, hydropower, and near coastal and ocean research. Multiparameter sondes provide real-time readings for dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, pH, turbidity, and other parameters.
Other features of the Vertical Profiling Systems include:
· Rugged, non-corrosive mechanical winch
· Profile Wizard software for easy set-up and deployment
· ProFile Manager software for data analysis and export
· User-selectable depth and sampling intervals
· Wireless data transmission options available
The USGS, in Henderson, Nevada, recently installed four YSI profiling systems onto pre-existing platforms in Lake Mead. These floating systems provide continuous monitoring. The water quality of Lake Mead has become an important issue due to continuing drought.
