About Benchmarking
Benchmarking allows water and wastewater utilities to compare themselves to similar utilities in key operational and management areas. Measuring performance against the industry is the first step in overall improvement.
The Benchmarking report is the result of a survey of more than 200 utilities, with basic statistics and analysis for each of the 22 indicators. The report also includes analyses and discussion based on geographic location, type of operations (water, wastewater, combined), and population served .
As the World's Water EventSM, ACE05 is expected to draw more than 12,000 water professionals and 480 exhibiting companies. It will feature a professional program with more than 100 sessions and 17 in-depth Sunday Workshops – the largest professional program of any industry conference. Topics covered will include infrastructure management, security, emerging issues, water conservation and water resources, legislative and regulatory issues, engineering and construction, distribution and plant operations, public affairs and international issues.
AWWA is the authoritative resource for knowledge, information, and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of drinking water in North America and beyond. AWWA is the largest organization of water professionals in the world. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the drinking water community.
