Chesterfield, MO -- Insituform Technologies, Inc., which specializes in rehabilitating water and sewer pipes without digging and disruption, will be featured on a History Channel special. The program will air on Wednesday, July 27 at 7 p.m. CST.

The program is part of the History Channel’s “Modern Marvels” series. It will discuss the history of sewers and their evolution from the 1300’s to present day. The final portion of the show will focus on contemporary and emerging technologies in sewer rehabilitation.

Filming for the Insituform portion of the special took place in May at Insituform’s research and development facility in Chesterfield.

Walter Bilgram, vice president of engineering and technology at Insituform, appears in the program. Bilgram provides commentary on Insituform’s role in the changing technology of the sewer rehabilitation industry. The special also includes a demonstration of the Insituform Cured-In-Place Pipe technology, a technique used to rehabilitate deteriorating sewers.

“It is very exciting for Insituform to appear on the History Channel special,” said Bilgram. “Insituform is very proud to participate in this program. We appreciated the opportunity to help educate viewers on the challenges of keeping our sewer infrastructure viable.”

“Modern Marvels” airs every Wednesday on the History Channel, at 7 p.m. CST. The show celebrates the ingenuity, invention and imagination of fascinating people who have created technological breakthroughs, everyday items and man-made wonders.

Insituform Technologies, Inc. is a leading worldwide provider of proprietary technologies and services for rehabilitating sewer, water, and other underground piping systems without digging and disruption.

More information about the company can be found on its Internet site at www.insituform.com
