St. Paul, MN -- EMA’s Board of Directors has appointed Terry Brueck, PE as President and Chief Executive Officer of the firm to succeed George Mathes, PE, who has announced his plan to retire. Mathes retires having provided exceptional service to EMA’s clients for 29 years. He joined the firm in 1976 as a project engineer and was instrumental in EMA’s growth throughout the years. Mathes became Chief Operating Officer of EMA in 1991 and was named CEO and Chairman of the Board in 2000.
“Terry and I have worked together closely over the years. EMA is in very capable hands, and the company’s future is bright,” Mathes said.
Brueck, who joined EMA in 1978, brings over 30 years of public and private sector experience to the position, which he will officially assume September 1, 2005. Brueck is recognized throughout the water and wastewater market for his leadership of breakthrough research projects in Strategic Planning and Organizational Development, Performance Measurement, Information Technology, and the future of the industries. Acknowledged as an innovative, forward-thinker, Brueck anticipates trends and important issues. He provides EMA clients with exceptional insight, enabling them to leverage and respond to change.
“I look forward to continuing EMA’s excellent work in delivering results for our clients,” Brueck said. “We are eager to help them improve operating performance by implementing high-productivity management strategies, innovative work practices, and cutting-edge applied technology solutions. That’s what EMA is all about.”
The Board also announced the appointment of Alan Manning, PE as Chairman of the Board, a position he held previously from 1977 to 2000. “Terry’s appointment as President underscores EMA’s dedication to our clients and the industries they operate in,” Manning said. “His experience and industry commitment epitomize EMA’s core value of helping clients anticipate the future. We couldn’t be more pleased with the Board’s decision.”
The specialized consultants of EMA focus on the technology and business management needs of utilities, public sector entities, and manufacturers. Founded in 1975 in St. Paul, MN, the company has offices throughout the United States and Canada.
