The City of Legends Chooses MWH Soft

Broomfield, CO -- MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, today announced that the City of St. John's, the capital city of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, has deployed multiple licenses of InfoWater Suite, InfoSurge and InfoSewer Pro Suite.

The City plans to make the programs the foundation for a comprehensive ArcGIS-centric (ESRI, Redlands, CA) solution for modeling, managing, operating, and protecting its drinking water infrastructure and sanitary, storm and combined sewer collection systems. The selection substantiates MWH Soft's leadership position in geospatial hydraulic infrastructure management in the North American market.

One of the oldest cities in North America, St. John's, known as the "City of Legends," serves a population of about 100,000 within a 480 square km area. The City maintains and operates 490 km of water mains and 380 km of sanitary sewer, 330 km of storm sewer, and 30 km of combined sewer mains.

The City's decision to standardize on InfoWater, InfoSurge and InfoSewer technology followed an in-depth survey and evaluation of GIS-based modeling software packages, including presentations by software vendor representatives. The accelerated adoption rate of MWH Soft geocentric technology reflects a powerful trend among water and wastewater utilities and progressive engineering firms toward choosing MWH Soft products for their unparalleled GIS integration capabilities, interoperability, ease of use, and comprehensive set of solutions.

Built atop ArcGIS with native geodatabase support, InfoWater, InfoSurge and InfoSewer offer a single comprehensive, GIS-centric solution for analyzing and managing the most complex water distribution and sewer collections systems. A seamlessly integrated geospatial framework applies GIS intelligence to engineering-accurate information, coupled with the most advanced numerical computation, hydraulic transient analysis, genetic algorithm optimization and object-component geospatial technologies in the marketplace.

The resulting centralized, multi-function system delivers world-record performance, scalability, reliability, functionality and flexibility within the powerful ArcGIS environment, completely eliminating the need for inefficient, unreliable data synchronization, synching schemes, or middlelink interfaces required by other software. These factors and more translate to increased productivity, reduced costs, greater efficiency, and improved designs - giving water and wastewater utilities a clear competitive advantage.

"Increasingly, water and wastewater utilities and engineering organizations worldwide are relying on our superior geospatial technology when deploying rigorous, high performance GIS-centric modeling and optimization systems," said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft. "No other solution offers such a complete and powerful combination of functionality, seamless GIS integration, speed, stability, and ease of use - all of which foster better decision making and more economical operations. We're proud to know that our industry-leading geocentric modeling solutions will be helping the City of Legends build a foundation for success in the decades to come."

"MWH Soft offers the most comprehensive selection of ArcGIS-centric hydraulic modeling and management solutions in the water and wastewater industries," said Christopher W. Baxter, Ph.D, President of HYDRANNT Consulting in Port Coquitlam BC, Canada. "These critical tools are designed to help the water and wastewater industries do their jobs better, faster and at less cost - as a growing number of enterprises are discovering for themselves."

"The City of St. John's is well known for its unwavering commitment to providing first-class customer service and protecting the environment," said J. Erick Heath, PE, Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at MWH Soft. "We're delighted to play a part in the success of these vital efforts by helping the City meet its corporate and strategic goals and achieve world-class performance at breakthrough savings."
