Kansas City, KS -- CST Industries, Inc. announced the contract signing with Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore Pte Ltd for the supply and installation of two each 22,000 cubic meter (5.8 million gallons) finished water storage tanks for Keppel Seghers’ Ulu Pandan NEWater DBOO project in Singapore.

In Singapore, the ultra clean water reclaimed from used water by means of advanced membrane technology is called NEWater. The Keppel Segher’s plant will produce 25 mgd of NEWater. NEWater meets international standards for potable and drinking water, and will be used largely for industrial use with a small amount going into reservoirs for indirect potable use.

The tank contract covers the design, supply, fabrication, and delivery to site, installation and commissioning of the two pre-engineered and pre-fabricated sectional steel storage tanks. Each tank will have a nominal working capacity of 22,000 cubic meters and is 52 meters in diameter with a wall height of 11.5 meters.

Each tank will feature an aluminium geodesic clear-span dome roof system. The tank and dome systems will be supplied by Engineered Storage Products Company of DeKalb, Illinois, USA. Engineered Storage Products Company is an operating division of CST Industries.

The tank wall sheets will be internally coated with Engineered Storage Products Company’s proprietary Kuo-Lon® modified epoxy coating system. This state-of-the-art coating is specifically designed to minimize long-term maintenance requirements, a crucial issue for the Keppel Seghers’ 20 year DBOO contract.

Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore Ptd Ltd (KSES) is the environmental technology and engineering division of Keppel Corporation Ltd, a leading company in Singapore, which is listed in the stock exchange. The company provides technology and fulfillment services for the treatment of municipal solid waste, hazardous and medical waste, wastewater and sludge treatment, potable water, desalination and home filtration systems.

The NEWater factory currently being built by KSES in Singapore for producing potable water from used water is the largest used recycling plant in Asia. KSES is also actively pursuing thermal waste treatment, water and wastewater treatment projects globally.

CST Industries specializes in the design, supply and erection of pre-engineered steel storage tanks. Over 250,000 tanks have been installed in a wide variety of applications in over 120 countries around the world. The company consists of four operating divisions – Columbian TecTank, Engineered Storage Products Company, CST Vulcan and Geodome.
