CHANHASSEN, MN -- Emerson Process Management announces the addition of point level switches to the company's Rosemount® level instrumentation products. The new Rosemount 2110 and 2120 level switches are based on a vibrating short fork technology which is suitable for virtually all liquid applications. Their comprehensive features and high reliability make them especially effective in helping process industries to improve their bottom line.
"The Rosemount 2110 and 2120 are important new products in the expanding line of Rosemount level instrumentation", says Anna Olander, product manager at Emerson. "Now our customers will also be able to select state-of-the-art liquid level switch technology from Emerson. This means we can offer more alternatives when engineering the best level instrumentation solution for each application."
The Rosemount switches are virtually unaffected by flow, turbulence, bubbles, foam, vibration, or product variations. The unique "Fast Drip" fork design means that any remaining liquid is drawn away from the fork tips, allowing for quicker and more reliable detection, especially in high density liquids. Rosemount 2110 and 2120 are ideally suited in applications previously using float switches, conductive, capacitive, and optical sensors. The 2120 and 2110 perform in many applications that are unsuitable for other switches due to harsh process conditions. Both switches operate in temperatures up to 302°F (150°C) and pressures up to 1450 psig (100 barg).
The Rosemount 2120 is suitable for a wide range of applications and is available with various housings and wetted parts materials. The 2120 features include a complete range of process connections, extended fork lengths, and overfill approvals. An adjustable switching delay virtually eliminates the risk for false switching in turbulent or splashing applications. The level switch is suitable for use in a broad range of process industry applications including hazardous area installations.
The Rosemount 2110 is a compact version with a selection of connections and materials suitable for many OEM applications. The switch is for use in safe areas only, and includes hygienic connections that make it especially attractive for the food and beverage industry.
The new Rosemount level switches add to the line of level instrumentation that includes transmitters based on four different measurement principles - non-contacting radar, guided wave radar, vibrating fork, and differential pressure. Reliability and best fit for applications help the broad family of Rosemount level instrumentation expand the plant availability and operations excellence that enables greater than 2 percent improvement by PlantWeb® digital architecture from Emerson.
