White Plains, NY -- The WateReuse Foundation, with in-kind support from 26 major reuse facilities nationwide, has commissioned a Malcolm Pirnie-led team to develop a working Internet database of U.S. water reuse facilities and programs. Water reuse is becoming a key water management issue as population growth and drought exert more pressure on the dwindling clean-water supply.

The primary objective of the “National Database of Water Reuse Facilities (WRF-02-004)” is to provide a comprehensive Web database for professionals, regulators, educators, researchers and interested citizens that will serve as an industry benchmark as water reuse expands in the future.

The project is scheduled to be completed by May 2005. Malcolm Pirnie, working with HDR and Dr. James Crook, will develop a comprehensive framework for the data collection program, and will work closely with utilities and regulatory bodies across the nation to develop a working database.
