Ottawa, ON -- Control Microsystems, global developer of advanced RTU/PLCs, SCADA Host software, and intelligent sensors, announced the release of SCADAWave, an innovative line of data radio products. This advanced radio series includes remotes, base stations and hot standby/redundant station variants in both licensed and unlicensed frequency formats.
The license-free format is represented by the SCADAWave Ultra-Series radios, which are designed to provide reliable and secure serial data communication in the 900MHz ISM band. Licensed radios are covered by the SCADAWave M and E-Series products and are offered with a wide range of options.
"Our new SCADAWave product line is not just another entry into the data radio market", said Dale Symington, VP Product Strategy. "These radios provide solutions for real SCADA systems including facilities for multiple protocols over the same radio system, collision avoidance, and the ability to extend the RF range of repeater or bridge sites."
The unlicensed Ultra-Series is Control Microsystems' answer to the rapidly growing market for spread spectrum radios and includes dual data ports, high data rates and advanced encryption. The radios operate in either a standard remote unit format or as high-performance base stations or repeaters.
Targeting the licensed market, the SCADAWave E-Series radios incorporate advanced digital modulation and signal processing techniques to achieve exceptionally high throughput efficiency using traditional licensed narrow band radio channels. State-of-the-art features include an advanced DSP-based GMSK digital data modem, user-configurable data ports, and dual independent, high-frequency digital synthesizers.
Also targeting the licensed market, the SCADAWave M-Series is a high-value solution using the same advanced digital modulation and signal processing technology as the E-Series only with a sub-set of features.
All Control Microsystems SCADAWave radios are configured through the SCADAWave Manager configuration and diagnostics software which includes alarms, trends and data logging.
