| Iraq :
AirWater Machines Ordered for Coalition Forces
MIAMI,
FL /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Universal Communication
Systems, Inc. subsidiary AirWater Corporation chairman
Michael J. Zwebner announced today that the company has
received an order to supply and ship a number of AirWater
machines to the Gulf for immediate delivery to the US
Army/Coalition Forces.
In a short, but important,
statement, Michael Zwebner, said: "We have worked
long and hard with our marketing partners, and have
achieved amazing results in a very short time. This
breakthrough in receiving a request and order for these
first machines for the US Army/Coalition forces in Iraq is
a credit to the salesmanship and tenacity of our agents
and representatives in the field. We are informed that
after the authorities have received these first machines
for testing purposes, and have had the opportunity to
evaluate them, and see their viability for service and
deployment in the Iraq arena, substantial orders for the
product(s) will follow."
AirWater experts, engineers
and technicians have developed a unique sized Air to Water
machine specifically designed for the military. It is
capable of high water production by way of extracting from
air in huge quantities. All the water is then filtered and
purified. Then, water becomes drinkable and potable.
In addition, these
large-sized AirWater Machines can be truck and/or
trailer-mounted. This allows it to easily be transported
to any destination all over the world for fast and
immediate deployment in the case of war and/or other needs
and/or emergencies.
In a further statement,
Michael J. Zwebner stated that the company has placed an
order with a manufacturer for a uniquely sized AirWater
machine that will produce between 1,000 and 5,000 gallons
daily of pure, clean drinking water from the air! The
machine will then place in a special location, and be used
for public and commercial demonstration purposes. More
details about this project will be announced in the near
future. About Universal Communication Systems, Inc.

| Acquisitions
: Pentair Acquires Water Pump and Brine Tank Businesses
GOLDEN
VALLEY, MN -- Pentair today announced that it has acquired
certain assets of two privately held companies to augment
existing businesses in its Water Technologies Group.
TwinPumps, Inc., ( http://www.twinpumps.com/
) of Oldwick, New Jersey, designs and manufactures vortex
and chopper pumps for municipal wastewater applications.
K&M Plastics, Incorporated, ( http://www.kmplastics.com/
) of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, designs and manufactures
blow-molded brine tanks and pressure vessels for
residential and commercial water conditioning and
filtration applications.
Pentair did not disclose
the terms of the TwinPumps and the K&M Plastics
transactions, which were completed July 1, 2003, and
today, respectively. Pentair anticipates that the
acquisitions will be accretive to earnings within the
first full year of ownership.
"Combined, these asset
purchases represent a sales growth opportunity of from $5
million to $10 million over the next few years," said
Randall J. Hogan, Pentair chairman and chief executive
officer. "These transactions meet our criteria and
they dovetail well with our strategy to build the Water
Technologies Group in targeted markets."
Richard J. Cathcart,
president and chief operating officer of Pentair's Water
Technologies Group, said that sales of TwinPumps products
will be leveraged by Pentair's existing Fairbanks Morse
pump sales channel to pursue replacement parts,
replacements pumps, and new project business in the
municipal wastewater business.
"In addition, we have
retained the firm's founders to help us develop other
innovative products to supplement our product lines,"
Cathcart said. "These new products are expected to
launch beginning in 2004, giving us a broader offering on
the process side of the wastewater business. The K&M
Plastics transaction, meanwhile, will allow Pentair to
better serve the fast- growing Asian water markets."
Pentair ( http://www.pentair.com/
) is a Minnesota-based manufacturer whose core businesses
compete in tools, water technologies, and enclosures
markets. The company employs 12,000 people in more than 50
locations around the world. |

Wastewater : EDI Receives
Patent For Diffuser Mounting System
Columbia,
MO -- Environmental Dynamics Inc. (EDI) received a key
patent for it's unique Diffuser Mounting System for
Aeration of Liquids. U.S. Patent No. 6,497,402
describes the innovative SDM design for mounting air
diffusers on air supply piping.
Developed by EDI the SDM
Saddle connection greatly improves the strength and
versatility of the diffuser assembly. The diffuser
mounting assembly includes two half saddles with air
diffusers attached, two wedge fasteners to secure the
saddle to the lateral piping, and o-rings that fit between
the saddle and the lateral.
A feature of SDM is the
eccentric location of the outlet fittings on the saddle
sections. With the outlets located level with the bottom
surface of the laterals, the air is released at the full
basin depth to achieve maximum aeration. Accordingly both
the laterals and diffusers can essentially be installed on
the basin floor. This is highly advantageous in many
applications.
Environmental Dynamics
Inc., founded in 1975, specializes in the research,
development, and application of advanced technology
aeration and mixing systems used in municipal and
industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Specialized designs and equipment are also available for
total biological treatment systems and advanced treatment
systems.

Mr. Hurley needs info
on effluent reuse:
I am working with a
municipality in Illinois who wants to look into reusing a
portion of their wastewater effluent to irrigate nearby
agriculture (nonfood crops). The effluent is currently
being treated and permitted to discharge downstream into a
river.
I am looking for case
studies of effluent reuse of this kind. In addition, any
information on new or upcoming technology for effluent
reuse would be appreciated. (Click
