Tyco Flow Control Launches 20-Year Project For California

Earth Tech Breaks Ground on Water and Public Works Project
in Beverly Hills

LONG BEACH, Calif., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyco Flow Control,
a part of Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC; LSE: TYI; BSX: TYC),
today announced that its Earth Tech, Inc. unit broke ground
on a reverse osmosis water treatment plant and an innovative
public works facility for the city of Beverly Hills, California.
Last year, Earth Tech was selected to design, build, finance
and operate (DBFO) the facility through a 20-year public/private
partnership with the City. Based on the building's proximity
to city hall and other new planned development, Earth Tech
proposed a sophisticated design for the project that was a
significant factor in winning the contract.

"The partnership between the city and Earth Tech will provide
the citizens of Beverly Hills with a reliable, cost-effective
local water supply " explained Beverly Hills mayor, Vicki
Reynolds.

"This project is a great example of the positive impact that
can result from cooperative partnerships between progressive
municipalities and the private sector," said Diane C. Creel,
president of Earth Tech. "Earth Tech is uniquely qualified
to offer of a comprehensive range of services to see a
project through from design, construction, financing and
operations of water utility systems."

The DBFO agreement struck with the City of Beverly Hills
exemplifies Earth Tech's flexibility in structuring a service
contract to meet a client's special requirements. The company
is committed to bringing single-source accountability to the
city for a complete range of services including architecture,
construction, water treatment, project funding, and long-term
operations and maintenance.

The construction period of the facility is planned for 18 months.
On completion, Earth Tech will commence operations of the plant
for a period of 20 years. With this new facility, groundwater
will be pumped from the Hollywood Basin and treated at the plant
through an advanced membrane treatment system and thus augment
the city's municipal water supply. The additional water resources
will supplement the water supply currently provided by regional
water authorities and will also provide resources for fire
emergencies.

The building that houses the plant has been designed to accommodate
future expansion, and is marked by its combination of function
and aesthetics, featuring clean, contemporary lines to complement
future new municipal development in the area.

Seattle Public Utilities Celebrate Dedication of Tolt WT Facility
------------------------------------------------------------

SEATTLE, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Azurix Corp. (NYSE: AZX)
announced today the dedication of the new Tolt Treatment Facility.
The facility treats water from the South Fork Tolt River, which
supplies on average annually 30 percent of the water used by
Seattle Public Utilities' (SPU) 1.3 million customers in
Seattle and surrounding communities.

Azurix operates the plant, which it designed and built in
association with Camp Dresser & McKee (CDM). The Azurix CDM
consortium is owned 80 percent by Azurix and 20 percent by CDM.
SPU has prescribed performance requirements and retains ownership
of the plant.

Using the innovative design-build-operate (DBO) contracting
approach, SPU saved an estimated $70 million over the life of
the project -- the equivalent of an entire year's worth of
water service for 178,000 households and businesses. The
Azurix CDM team permitted, designed and built the plant
after winning the project through a competitive procurement
process.

"Azurix has impressed us with its experience, knowledge and
professionalism and has been an extraordinary partner throughout
the entire DBO process," said Diana Gale, managing director of
SPU. "Its ability to solve project challenges efficiently and
sensitively has been key in driving Tolt to completion, on
budget and meeting our schedule objectives," she added.

The Tolt contract was awarded in May 1997 with the groundbreaking
ceremony occurring about a year later. The plant began operation
last December. Tolt is the largest DBO project of its type in
North America and is a model for communities wanting to reduce
costs, improve implementation efficiencies and increase
accountability.

"We are immensely proud of the Tolt facility and our relationship
with SPU," said John Stokes, president and CEO of Azurix North
America. "This is a showcase project that highlights how well
public-private partnerships can work."

The facility uses leading edge technology including ozonation
and high rate filtration to provide exceptionally high quality
water from the Tolt River supply. It has the capacity to process
120 million gallons per day (MGD).

For more information about the innovative Tolt project, visit the
SPU web site at
http://www.cityofseattle.net/util/
and click on "Projects and Planning."

Azurix Corp. (http://www.azurix.com/) is a global company that

water resources. Within North America, Azurix operates more than
1,000 facilities serving more than two million people and offers
a full range of water and wastewater services, including
operations and maintenance, engineering, carbon management and

Cruise Line Uses Technology To Ensure A Cleaner Environment
------------------------------------------------------------

ZENON Environmental Inc. announced that it will be supplying
Holland America Lines Westours (HALW) passenger cruise ships
with a commercial shipboard application of its patented
ZenoGem(R) technology.

The contract, valued at approximately $5 million, encompasses
the installation of ZENON's systems on two more ships. "A year
ago we purchased a ZENON system for the ms Statendam to treat
gray and black water for discharge into the environment," said
Stein Kruse, Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations. "With
the successful results from that ship, we are excited to apply
ZENON's system to two additional ships this year."

The ZenoGem(R) membrane bioreactor will process both black and
gray water for safe discharge into the environment. Gray water
includes water from showers, sinks, galleys and laundry; black
water comes from toilet collection systems onboard ships. Until
recently, gray water discharge has been largely unregulated.
Today, the cruise line industry is faced with stringent wastewater
discharge regulations on both gray and black water related to
sensitive marine environments worldwide.

"In its commitment to maintaining a clean environment of the
places it visits, Holland America has demonstrated its corporate
responsibility and industry leading stewardship to meet and
exceed current regulations," concluded Kruse. "ZENON's technology
will allow any marine vessel to comply with and beneficially
exceed existing discharge regulations," said Andrew Benedek,
ZENON's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

"This contract represents a significant step in the wider
adoption of ZENON's technology for the growing cruise ship
market globally."

Also significant to ZENON's future success in this market is
the recent partnering of ZENON with Evac, a world leader in
vacuum sewage systems, with a reference list of more than
6500 ships over the last 30 years.

ZENON is a world leader in providing advanced membrane products
and services for water purification, wastewater treatment
and water reuse. Chosen as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers,
the ZENON group of companies operates from seven locations
in North America, six in Europe, and one in each of Asia,
Latin America, and the Middle East. ZENON's products and
services are marketed for a variety of municipal and industrial
applications through ZENON's offices and representatives
located throughout the world.

Ms. Reardon is looking for WWT for an aluminum smelter

We currently use Alum to lower the level of fluoride in waste
water leaving the site. I am interested in hearing about
other options. We want something that can be used in a cost

Mr. Silcox needs to remove oil from treated waste water:

I am looking for chemical additive to remove various oils
from treated waste water. The oils keep making a film over
the filter press plates so no good filter cake can be formed.
The additive must be compliant with MSD standards.

Call For Photographs!
------------------------------------------------------------

This week's photo is of a 24-inch-in-diameter Slurrycup grit
classifier with a one-cubic-yard Grit Snail dewatering unit,
located at the Florence, Oregon WWTP. Eutek® Systems, Inc.
meets the challenges of separating and classifying grit as
small as 50 micron (270 mesh), while providing secondary
washing to minimize organic content. The 'all hydraulic'
Slurrycup has no internal moving parts, increasing operating
reliability. Applications include grit washing, snail shell
removal, and primary sludge degritting.
