Make the Internet work for you !

You have worked hard to get where you at!  You are at the top of your game!  You are a sales professional, a marketing wonder, a sharp gal or guy!   The classic marketing and sales approach works for you; advertising, shows, demonstrations, editorial releases, direct mail... but you want to do more!

You have heard of the Internet, sales successes online and you want make it work for you.  You want to sell more, both locally and globally, because it's your nature to succeed.

  • You can extend your reach into the global market with the Internet
  • You can improve you local support and sales with the Internet
  • And do it all on a tight budget !

The Internet Sells Water Treatment Equipment

What would you pay for a salesman who works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year?

A salesman that has complete product knowledge, always smiles and represents you and your company the way you want.  He can instantly be any place on the face of the earth, doesn't eat, drink or need a hotel room. My bet is that this salesman would be worth thousands of dollars.

The Internet is that salesman !

The "Corporate Presence" Web Site

Your typical "Corporate Presence" web site is like a not-so-intelligent salesman, in a shiny new suit.  He can open the door and show pretty pictures, but he doesn't have all the things your customers really want:  the technical knowledge, service and support to solve his or her problem, quickly.

Think about all the things your customers call or write you for.  Most often:

  • Catalogs, brochures and literature
  • Detailed equipment capabilities and specifications
  • CAD drawings and technical support
  • Installation information for the machine they bought
  • Maybe even, directions to your office from the airport

I'm sure there are many more, too many to list here!  You know what your customers ask for because you are the one who takes care of business.  "Corporate Presence" web sites are like a not-so-good salesman, only because these web sites can not deliver what your customer's want, now.

Put It on the Company's Web Site
Your Customers Will Thank You !

Think of your web site as a pyramid.  The top is the "Corporate Presence" web site that opens the door and greets your customer.   At the bottom of the pyramid is the most basic information, both public and semi-public that you share with others, customers and reps on a daily basis.  Layered so that customers and reps can click through the site to as much detail as they need.

The Industrial Materials Handling Web Pyramid

Corporate Presence Web Site

Basic Information
Catalogs, Brochures, Literature, Online Newsletter, etc.

Technical Information
Specifications, CAD Drawings, Application Data, Testing Services, etc.

Semi-Public Information (password protected)
Pricing, Quotations, Operating Manuals, Standard Forms and Letters, Online Rep Newsletter, Stocking Information, Sales Support Info, etc.

Does This Sound Familiar?

1)  What about the customer, who no matter how many manuals you sent with the order, can't find one?

And the big, last-minute rush your staff goes through to put another manual together and get it in overnight mail.  Imagine you could give him the web address and password so he could view/print out his own copy, online, right now !   He will most likely find his manuals in the left over packing materials, tomorrow.

2)  How about a rep newsletter that costs nothing to publish and mail?

One that the rep, with his own password could look at anywhere on the road with a lap top computer.  One he could print out and save for future reference.   One that might remind your rep that he has a client that could use the same solution you just sold.

3)  The design engineer that needs a CAD file of your machine?

One who can go online, download the file and drop it into his design, without ever leaving his computer.  Your equipment is specified and in his project !

There are many examples, think of the things you do to deliver information to others.  The Web Pyramid can handle it.

In Summery

The Web Sells !  If you take what your customers want, when they call you and put it on your web site.  If you make up-to-date information available to your reps and other field sales people.  If you make a web site that offers information, service and support!

I want to know more !

You're the boss and you want to know more about web site design, support and marketing.  (At least enough to get these web site designers to do it right.)  Click the link below and read on!

You're the boss, What you need to know !
